Ansio Technologies

Terms and conditions

These terms apply to every repair, diagnosis, technician visit, pickup and remote session by Ansio Technologies. They are written to keep things clear and fair for you, and safe for the technician who comes to your door.

1. The agreement

"Ansio", "we" and "us" mean Ansio Technologies. "You" means the person who requests the service. By sending a service request, booking a visit or approving a quote, you agree to these terms. If you book on behalf of a business or another person, you confirm that you are allowed to do so.

2. Quotes and the diagnostic policy

Every job starts with a diagnosis. The technician tests the device, finds the cause of the problem and gives you a written quote for parts and labour before any repair begins.

  • When you approve the repair, the diagnosis is free.
  • A diagnostic fee may apply if you decline the repair after the diagnosis is done, because the visit, the testing and the technician's time have already been provided.
  • You can ask for the current diagnostic fee before you book by calling (647) 424-1001.

A quote is based on what the technician can see and test at the time. If more faults are found once the device is opened, we stop and give you a new quote before doing anything more.

3. Approving the work

  • We only start a repair after you approve the quote, in writing, by e-mail or by signing on the technician's device. Your approval covers the work and the price written on the quote.
  • Any extra work or extra cost needs a new approval from you.
  • You can cancel a repair you approved until work begins. Parts already ordered for you are covered in section 8.

4. Your data and your device

  • Please back up your data before the visit. Repairs can require resets, reinstalls or replacing storage, and data can be lost even when the work is done correctly. We are not responsible for lost data, files, settings, licences or apps, unless data recovery is the service you paid for.
  • You confirm that you own the device or have the owner's permission to have it repaired.
  • Some repairs need a passcode or account access. Share it only if you are comfortable doing so, or stay with the technician to unlock the device yourself.
  • Tell us about liquid damage, drops, earlier repairs or anything else you know about the device. Missing information can change the diagnosis, the price and the result.
  • Remove cases, SIM cards, memory cards and accessories you want to keep, unless the technician needs them.
  • The technician may photograph the device, its serial number and its condition before and after the repair, to document the work.

5. Technician safety during visits

Our technicians work in your home or office, so a safe place to work is part of every visit. You agree to:

  • Have an adult (18 or older) present for the whole visit.
  • Provide a clean, well lit work surface and access to a power outlet.
  • Keep pets secured in another room during the visit.
  • Tell us before the visit about anything that could affect safety, such as illness in the home, pests, mould, smoke, hazardous materials or difficult access.
  • Make sure the technician can enter and leave freely and safely.

The technician may decline to start, pause or end a visit if the workplace is unsafe or unhealthy, if no adult is present, if they are treated with hostility or threatened, or if the job would involve anything illegal. In those cases we may charge for the visit and the time already provided, as explained in section 2, and we do not owe any compensation.

6. Respect for our technicians

  • We do not accept harassment, threats, discrimination, aggressive behaviour or unwanted contact toward our technicians, in person, by phone or by message. We may end the visit and refuse future service.
  • Recording a technician (audio or video) needs their agreement.
  • Please book all work through Ansio. Our technicians are not allowed to accept private side jobs from our customers, and you agree not to offer them for 12 months after a visit.
  • Technicians will not access, copy or view personal content beyond what the repair needs. If illegal content is found, the technician will stop the work, and we may report it as the law requires.

7. Existing damage and repair risks

Devices often come to us with damage that is not visible from the outside. You understand that:

  • Devices with liquid damage, swollen batteries, bent frames, cracked parts or earlier third-party repairs can fail during or after a repair, even when the repair is done correctly. We are not responsible for failures caused by damage that already existed.
  • Opening a device may affect its water resistance, any remaining manufacturer warranty, or features tied to original parts.
  • Some faults cannot be repaired, or are not worth repairing. If that happens, we explain your options. When a repair cannot be completed, you are not charged for the repair itself, though section 2 may apply to the diagnosis.

8. Parts

  • Your quote says which part will be used, for example an original manufacturer part or a compatible part, so you choose before we start.
  • Parts we order specially for your device may need to be paid in advance. Once ordered, a special-order part cannot be refunded unless it is faulty.
  • Replaced parts are disposed of responsibly unless you ask to keep them before the repair.

9. Rescheduling and missed visits

  • Please let us know at least 2 hours before your arrival window if you need to reschedule or cancel.
  • If the technician arrives during the agreed window and cannot get in, cannot reach you, or cannot start because of section 5, we contact you to book a new time. There is no visit fee.
  • Arrival windows are estimates. We will call you if traffic or an earlier job delays us.

10. Payment and devices we hold

  • Payment is due when the approved work is complete, unless your quote says otherwise.
  • Parts we install stay the property of Ansio until the repair is paid in full.
  • For pickup and return, we may keep the device until the approved amount is paid, as the Repair and Storage Liens Act (Ontario) allows. If a device is not collected or paid for within 90 days after we tell you it is ready, we may deal with it as that Act permits.
  • Payments refused or reversed without a valid reason may be recovered, together with reasonable collection costs where the law allows.

11. Warranty

Every repair comes with a written warranty on our labour and on the parts we supply. Its length is written on your receipt. A custom PC built by Ansio comes with a 1 year warranty on parts and labour, or 2 years with the extended warranty option. The warranty does not cover new physical or liquid damage, misuse, software problems, normal wear, or a device that someone other than Ansio has opened or repaired after us. To use the warranty, contact us with your receipt and we will inspect the device first.

12. Limits of responsibility

To the extent the law allows, our total responsibility for any claim about a service is limited to the amount you paid for that service. We are not responsible for indirect losses such as lost data, lost income, lost business or downtime. Nothing in these terms limits responsibility that cannot be limited by law, including for our own negligence that causes personal injury.

13. Your promise to us

You agree to cover our reasonable costs if a claim is brought against Ansio or our technician because of information you gave us that was false, a device you were not allowed to have repaired, or an unsafe condition at your property that you knew about and did not tell us.

14. Privacy

We use your name, contact details, address and device information only to provide the service, send you updates, prepare your quote and receipt, and honour your warranty. We do not sell your information. Calls and messages with our team may be recorded or stored to confirm what was agreed.

15. Your consumer rights

Nothing in these terms removes any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2002 (Ontario) or any other law that cannot be waived. If any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.

16. General

  • These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
  • We may update these terms. The version you accepted when you sent your request applies to that request.
  • Questions about these terms: call (647) 424-1001 or e-mail [email protected].
